In support of our mission, Fairfax Public Access manages an all-volunteer, not-for-profit, Internet Service serving the Washington D.C. area: Nova.org. We operate from facilities here at FPA and provide low cost "best effort" personal server colocation, as well as email and web hosting services for a wide variety of public organizations as well as individual computer enthusiasts who are local to our area.

Nova.org features . . .

  • A 20mb redundant fiber optic internet connection provided by Cox Business Services, with three /24 netblocks and a 4 hour SLA
  • Up to 5 email accounts
  • Unlimited domain and DNS hosting
  • Shell account with SSH, FTP, Apache, PHP 5, Perl 5.8.8, MySQL
  • Low cost "best effort" personal server colocation

All of our technical admins are volunteers and are actively working to stay ahead of the industry by implementing the leading edge of technology. Costs today for regular nova.org membership are $15/month ($180/year for Internet Access) plus your FPA membership fee ($26), for a total of $206/year
