On January 12, a 7.0-magnitude earthquake struck Haiti just outside its capital, Port-au-Prince. This catastrophic event resulted in immense devastation in and around the capital city. Ten of thousands of Haitians died, terrible injuries occurred, and families were displaced. Fairfax Public Access is seeking to provide assistance in this tragic disaster through a community awareness campaign, informing our viewers how they can donate to Haitian relief efforts through the American Red Cross and the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund. The public service announcements below will run on high rotation during breaks on FPA Channel 10 and International Channel 30. |

| American Red Cross | |||
| The American Red Cross' primary focus during the initial response of an emergency is food, shelter and meeting other basic needs. To donate: Go to RedCross.org, hit "donate now" button at top and then choose International Response Fund. You also can text "Haiti" to 90999 to donate $10 to the International Response Fund. The money will go directly to relief efforts in Haiti. Or call 1-800-Red-Cross. | |||
| Clinton Bush Haiti Fund | |||
Responding to an urgent request from President Obama, former Presidents Clinton and Bush teamed up to spearhead efforts to rebuild Haiti. To make a donation to the Clinton Bush Haiti fund, text the word “QUAKE” to 20222 to donate $10 to the fund. To donate online, go to clintonbushhaitifund.org. Money will go to basic needs -- such as food, water, shelter, and first-aid supplies -- as well as long-term support. |

The hearts and prayers of FPA staff and members go out to the victims of the earthquake and their families. |
