Most professional audio recording today is done in the digital domain. In this workshop you will learn the basics of digital recording, editing and processing, as well as mixing voice with sound effects and music on Adobe Audition v. 1.5. Participants in this class will gain the ability to produce promos for use on WEBR, create long-form radio drama, and gain an understanding of audio production necessary to create a small home digital studio and put sound up on personal web pages.

Prerequisite: Orientation + familiarity with Windows.

Learn how to use the latest in character generators: the Deko 500. Well done computer graphics can give your program a professional look and a unifying theme. With this CG system you can create a custom look for your program from the color of the title bar to a custom type face.

Prerequisite: Production Assistant  + Familiarity with windows and PCs

Four session of 3 hours each (no volunteer requirements).

 

This class is designed for existing FPA radio producers who wish to refine their radio production skills. "Dealing With Studio Problems" and "Vocal Performance and Delivery" are just a few of the topics that will be addressed.

This class is designed to teach students revolutionary real-time motion graphics. You will discover the exciting use of behavioral and gestural animation techniques by hands-on experience. This class has a variety of elements for inventing motion graphics. When you have finished the class you will be able to understand the latest craze and excitement of motion graphics.

This class teaches you everything you need to know to create your own professional DVD and titles. You will learn how to create slide shows, add subtitles and closed captioning, advanced menu design, working with markers and stories, multiple language and audio stream input, as well as explore the options to encode high-quality video. When you are done with the course, you will have gained the knowledge of making a "blockbuster" worthy DVD.

This class is designed to teach you how to create exceptional computer imagery, design a website faster and experience the highest quality work using vector editing and masking, improved layer controls, drawing tools, text warping, image distortion tools and much more.

Four sessions of 3 hours each.

Students will continue to learn video post-production. Industry standard tools, including video compositing and 2-D animation software (Apple Motion), still image manipulation software (Adobe Photoshop), and non-linear editing (Final-Cut Pro) will be used to create professional-quality video graphics and effects.

Five sessions of 3 hours each + completion of a project
